About Top 50 Tots

Top 50 Tots is a weekly list of the 50 toys parents are buying most right now for babies and toddlers, from newborn up to about age 4.

Each kind of toy also gets its own weekly Top list: Baby Toys, Toddler Toys, Learning & STEM, Building & Blocks, Pretend Play, Musical, Bath Toys, and Ride-Ons & Active Play.

How we pick

Every week we look at Amazon's public best-seller lists for baby and toddler toys and how many reviews each toy has. We leave out toys labeled for older kids, then a real person puts the list in order, based on what's selling and what we'd tell a friend with a little one to buy.

When the toy's listing gives an age range, we put it in the description. Always go by the age on the box.

The badges show how each toy moved since last week: ▲ went up, ▼ went down, NEW is new on the list.

What we don't do

• No one pays us to be on the list.
• We don't make up prices. Prices change all the time, so we send you to the store to see today's price.
• We haven't tested every toy ourselves. Each description says what the toy is and who it's for, based on the maker's listing.
